Completed in 2013, The Leeds Arena (Now named ‘The First Direct Arena’) is a 13’500-capacity entertainment venue built to host various acts from comedy to music. Tasked by BAM Construction we started work on the acoustic and permaquik roof in 2012.
With the venue hosting music events, the acoustic roof not only had to keep noise out but must also keep the noise in to avoid noise pollution in the surrounding area. The roof has multiple layers to it with the biggest being the acoustic roof with it covering 7500m2. The Sarnafil layer covers 7000m2 along with the permaquik covering 5000m2. The final layer is the green roof with covers around 2000m2.
