The Bonus Arena in Hull was built to be a venue for entertainment events and has a capacity of up to 3,500 people, in 2019 acts such as Take That and Peter Andre performed there. BAM construction were the main contractor we worked with to get the arena completed in the summer of 2017 and it took 4 months to complete.
Since the venue would host music events the building had to be soundproof so no noise goes in or comes out. To execute this, This means we had to install two roofs. We lifted the decking sheets using a sucker on a crane due to their size and weight. Filled the decking with acoustic batons and two layers on 25m plywood, this process was done twice, creating the acoustic roofs then a second waterproofing roof was installed using Single Ply Membrane along with a Sarnafil Single Ply Membrane.
